Set in pleasant open grounds, with two adjoining sports fields, in the Villejean area (western city limits) the lycée is only minutes away from the historical city centre and close to institutions and services such as the University of Rennes II, the Atalante Technopark, the Prefecture, the Chamber of Commerce.

Regular bus services provide easy access to the city centre (and from 2001, the metro).

Rennes is nowadays a city of 330,000 inhabitants. Proud of its young population of 60,000 students, it is an active city appealing to outgoing, far-seeing people. As the capital of Brittany, Rennes is the obvious crossroads of tomorrow’s technologies. Alongside its two University campuses, Rennes I (Beaulieu) and Rennes II (Villejean), the city boasts a wide range of higher colleges and institutes.

The lycée ILE-de-FRANCE provides tuition for students aged 15 to 20 in a wide range of subjects covering the various courses of the standard baccalauréat (literature and languages, business and social studies, sciences) as well as the technological courses of the tertiary sector baccalauréat (related to Service Industries).

Achievers can find an opportunity for further education in the lycée’s two B.T.S courses. (Brevet de Technicien Supérieur) :

The lycée also prepares students for entrance exams in higher education institutions, such as The Ecole Normale Supérieure de Cachan and the Ecoles de Commerce in our CPGE class. This is a two-year program associated with the DEUG course in Economics and Management at the local University.

At the regional level, the lycée recruits students from the West of France under the same conditions as its Anglo - American Studies Program, for admission to a three-year "Sports – Etudes Judo" Cycle, combining academic study and the practice of Judo at an advanced level.
